Danzhou Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Northernmost Guangxi. The name Danzhou Gr derived from the Danzhou Schist named by Zhao Jinke and Wu Yansheng in 1941, which was renamed as the Danzhou Group. The typical section is located in Danzhou, Sanjiang County, Guangxi Zhuangzhu Zizhiqu (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region).

Lithology and Thickness
The Danzhou Gr consists of three formations, which is the Baizhu Fm (白竹组), Hetong Fm (合桐组) and Gongdong Fm (拱洞组) from bottom to top. [See individual formations for details.] It is mainly composed of metamorphic sandy mudstone intercalated with minor carbonate rock. It is also intercalated with spilite, pyroclastic rock and a lot of lenticular or basic to ultrabasic rock in Sanmen area of Longsheng County. The total thickness varies from 968 to 4780 m. Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Danzhou Gr rests unconformably on the underlying Sipu Gr (Sibap Gr) (Yuxi Fm)
Upper contact
Underlies unconformably the overlying Chang’an Fm (glacial)
Regional extent
Northernmost Guangxi. The Danzhou Gr is dominantly distributed in Jiuwan Mt. to Yuecheng Mt. area in the north of Guangxi.
